What was the “spirit” that visited Eliphaz in the night? (Job 4:15).

The two main views are that: (1) it was the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) or (2) that it was a deceiving spirit—a demon. Given the fact that the overall message (esp. Job 4:18) of the spirit is in sharp contrast with God’s opinion of Job (Job 1:8; 2:3), I’m of the opinion that it was Satan. If I’m right, this was not the last time that a godly person embraced a Satanic doctrine (Matt 16:21–23; cf. 1 Tim 4:1).
